Proud to be on this list and congrats to our fellow colleges and universities with Athlete Ally chapters who made this list as well! That being said, there's still work to be done, and we remain committed to bettering the LGBTQ+ environment at Ithaca College in the years to come.

Ithaca College Athlete Ally, Created Equal, PRISM, and Spectrum, believe that Ithaca College should be a safe place for all students regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, and their other identities/beliefs. In light of this, we are troubled by recent events on campus showing clear racial bias, discrimination, and aggression towards people of color. We are even more disturbed that the Ithaca College President, Tom Rochon, has shown little to no support for the people of color on campus, often invalidating their experiences. As a result, Ithaca College Athlete Ally, Created Equal, PRISM, and Spectrum formally express their unilateral support for POC at IC and a vote of no confidence in President Tom Rochon.

Fair Haven is a new LGBT drama starring Tom Wopat (The Dukes of Hazzard, Django Unchained), Michael Grant (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), and Gregory Harrison (Trapper John, M.D., Reckless). The film centers around a young man returning to his family farm after an extensive stay in ex-gay conversion therapy. He’s torn between the expectations of his emotionally distant father and the memories of a past, loving relationship he’s tried to bury. The film highlights the dangers of reparative therapy, and supports the themes of equality and being true to yourself.
