The opening of the school year, 1905-1906, found at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, a group of black students distributed in the various colleges of the University, who desirous of maintaining more intimate contacts with one another than their classroom study permitted. They often met in groups during the Autumn of 1905 and talked of the possibilities of closer contacts among themselves. Calling all ladies of Cornell! Please see for updates about this year’s highly anticipated Stroll Like an Alpha Competition. Join us for our SLAA informational meeting on Friday 10/23 at 6:30pm! We will be going over event details and logistics for SLAA so your attendance is highly encouraged.

SLAA is one of our most engaging charity and community events and we look forward to making it bigger and better this year! Moreover, we have decided that all proceeds will go toward a sexual assault prevention organization this year.

We are proud to announce that Alpha Chapter has been recognized as Chapter of the Year by the New York Association of Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. We also celebrate Bro. Jeremy Henderson (A-SP24-1), who has been named College Brother of the Year.

These accomplishments would not be possible without the guidance and unwavering support of our incredible campus advisor, Bro. Gavin Mosley, who has concurrently been named Alumni Brother of the Year. Bro. Mosley’s dedication to Alpha Chapter and continued investment in the development of our brothers have played an invaluable role in helping us uphold the standard of our dear fraternity.

These honors reflect Alpha Chapter’s continued commitment to scholarship, service, leadership, and brotherhood, while recognizing the brothers whose work continues to advance the Aims of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Recently, Bro. Colin Michael (A-SP24-4) was grateful for the opportunity to donate stem cells to a blood cancer patient through the NMDP registry.

Bro. Michael first learned about NMDP through its awareness campaign at Cornell this past spring and was paired in August with a genetically compatible match, a patient battling acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

We encourage others to support the NMDP chapter at Cornell Cornell NMDP and to join the donor registry—it’s as simple as a quick cheek swab. There are still countless patients who haven’t found a match, so every additional donor on the registry could offer someone a potential second chance at life.

Last weekend, Bro. Michael (SP24), Bro. Green (SP26), Bro. Singleton (SP26), and Bro. Hoereth (SP26) were grateful to attend the Eastern Region College Brothers Retreat at Rowan University, with the Nu Iota Chapter serving as host.

The retreat provided an outstanding opportunity for leadership development, exchange of ideas, meaningful connections, and brotherhood. Throughout the weekend, our Brothers also supported Bro. Green in his role as the Assistant Director of Education for the Eastern Region.

We look forward to bringing this insight and leadership back to our communities, and continuing to Hold the Light High. ‘06🤙🏾
