At Millsaps, students don’t have to choose between their passions.

For Mariam Bhatti, that meant pursuing English and dentistry — combining her love of literature with her goal of becoming a dentist. With support from faculty in both the English and Chemistry departments, Mariam created a path that brought both interests together.

This May, she’ll graduate with a B.S. in English Literature, and in fall 2026 she’ll begin dental school.

Along the way, she’s strengthened campus life as a tutor and student leader, including serving as SAACS president.

That’s the power of a community that supports your ambitions and helps turn them into real outcomes.
