UMMC is seeking a Development Specialist to join the Office of Development team!

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building, communication, fundraising strategy, and community engagement. The Development Specialist works closely with donors, corporations, foundations, and internal leaders to help support the mission and growth of Mississippi’s only academic medical center.

Responsibilities include assisting with donor cultivation and stewardship, coordinating fundraising initiatives and special events, drafting donor communications and proposals, maintaining donor records and databases, supporting annual giving efforts, and helping develop strategies to secure charitable gifts in support of patient care, education, and research initiatives across UMMC.

We’re looking for candidates with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, public relations, or business is preferred, along with the ability to manage multiple projects, maintain confidentiality, and build strong relationships with both internal and external partners.
