We are proud of the partnership with Jackson Madison County Schools and the opportunities students have to gain knowledge and skills through CTE dual enrollment programs. Congratulations to Deanna Holladay, a recent graduate from the Criminal Justice: Correctional Officer program at the TCAT Jackson Lexington Extension Campus. Deanna was awarded a $1000 scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society. She recently accepted a position at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. Deanna was one of 275 outstanding NTHS members to receive the Jon H. Poteat Scholarship based on their ability to consistently exemplify the 7 attributes of NTHS - Skill, Honesty, Service, Responsibility, Scholarship, Citizenship, and Leadership.

The TCAT Jackson Lexington Extension Campus recently hosted a Tech Helps/Digital Literacy Program in partnership with SouthWest Human Resources Agency. This program is a fantastic initiative aimed at empowering senior adults with essential computer literacy skills. The participants benefit from 15 hours of training to learn essential practices to stay safe online, navigate and download apps, understand and utilize Google tools, connect to WiFi, and to communicate with friends and family through email and messaging. Our Lexington campus was happy to partner with. SWHRA to host this community outreach program and provide support from our Information and Infrastructure Technology instructor, Richard Montgomery and one of his current students, Lars Harper, as they assisted with teaching the course. Additionally, Alexandra Williams is a recent graduate from the IIT program and now works for Southwest Human Resources Agency. The Tech Help program is available in the counties of Chester, Decatur, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, and McNairy.
