💚💗 Community Service and Civic Engagement in Action 💚💗

Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Gamma Alpha Omega Chapter proudly attended the SAACA Annual Juneteenth Celebration at T.R. White Sportsplex. Juneteenth is a time to celebrate freedom, reflect on our history, and recommit ourselves to creating a brighter future for generations to come.

During the celebration, chapter members partnered with the Jackson-Madison County Branch of the NAACP to distribute voter registration materials and encourage citizens to verify their voter registration status. Civic engagement remains one of the most powerful ways we can honor the sacrifices of those who came before us and ensure our voices are heard.

We were honored to support this meaningful community event while promoting voter education, empowerment, and advocacy. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about voter registration and the importance of participating in the democratic process.

Together, we celebrate our history, uplift our community, and continue the work of advancing social justice and equality.

✨ Gamma Alpha Omega Chapter Leadership Development Workshop ✨

On Saturday, June 14, 2026, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Gamma Alpha Omega Chapter Leadership Development Committee proudly hosted an engaging and inspiring S.T.A.R.R.R. Leadership Development Workshop.

Participants were empowered through insightful presentations by our dynamic presenters, Margaret Rogers, Kimberly Jones and Jennifer Wells, who shared valuable leadership principles, strategies for effective service, and tools for personal and professional growth.

The workshop also included a meaningful Sisterly Relations Activity led by Teri Gore Woods, which strengthened our bonds of sisterhood, encouraged authentic connections, and reminded us of the importance of supporting one another as we continue to serve our communities.

A special thank you to April Buckner, Chair, Joy Truly Brown, Co-Chair, and Dr. Mechelle Moragne, President, for their vision, planning, and facilitation of this impactful experience. Your dedication to leadership development and sisterhood created an atmosphere of learning, inspiration, and empowerment.

As members of the S.T.A.R.R.R. Administration — Soaring Together while Abundantly Resilient, Revitalized, and Restored — we remain committed to cultivating leaders, strengthening our chapter, and advancing Alpha Kappa Alpha’s legacy of service.

A few members of Gamma Alpha Omega Chapter enjoyed supporting Jay Eatz Soulfood Catering in Bolivar, Tennessee. The food was absolutely delicious, and the hospitality was outstanding!

We believe in supporting and uplifting Black-owned businesses that make a positive impact in our communities. Thank you, Jay Eatz Soulfood Catering, for providing a wonderful dining experience. We look forward to supporting you again!

Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Gamma Alpha Omega Chapter enjoyed an evening of fellowship and fun as we attended Open Mic in the Square in Bolivar, Tennessee, yesterday.

We were delighted to hear the talented Stephanie Bolton deliver an outstanding performance and enjoyed spending time with members of the community. Events like these remind us of the importance of supporting local artists, celebrating culture, and building connections.

Greek love, sisterhood, and community engagement made for a wonderful evening!

Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Gamma Alpha Omega Chapter were honored to attend the 2026 Miss Juneteenth Pageant. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of the participants who showcased poise, talent, confidence, and excellence throughout the competition.

Special congratulations to the Junior Division participants and winners for their outstanding performances and dedication. We are especially proud that several of our chapter members contributed behind the scenes to help make this event a success.

A very special congratulations to the newly crowned 2026 Ms. Juneteenth! May your reign be filled with purpose, leadership, service, and continued success as you represent the spirit and legacy of Juneteenth.
