Summer Component - will provide six weeks of campus educational enrichment during the months of June and July. The summer program will provide highly concentrated developmental activities and experiences designed to enhance and enrich the young men ability to communicate effectively; understand the importance and function of accessing, processing, using, and evaluating information; understand and
apply mathematical concepts and operations; appreciate the achievements and contributions of African Americans; appreciate the role of the arts and physical activities in our daily lives; develop personally in ways marked by good character, a cooperative spirit, and a sense of ethics and morality; and explore places, things and people in our immediate and surrounding communities, the nation and world. To accomplish our objectives just described, students moreover, will hear and respond to several presentations by community leaders, politicians, motivational speakers and other professionals or successful people. They will also participate in educational and recreational excursions in our community, the state and the nation. Saturday Academic Component - will provide three monthly Saturday classes for English and Mathematics from September 2013 to May 2014 to increase student achievement and ensure the students are equipped to pass the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT), (SAT) and (ACT).
