Students in their final semester from UNF and FSCJ recently collaborated with the UNF Philosophy and Religious Studies department at their conference “Philosophizing the Future of Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Mothering”. At this three day conference, students were introduced to the unique setting of conference interpreting where they practiced valuable skills such as prepping, teaming, and actively interpreting complex philosophical works.”

This group of future professionals and their mentors were phenomenal!

Greetings all!! The TIEM Center and Signs of Development are working together to redesign the Interpreter Screening Project for the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
We have completed extensive data g*thering on the content and format of the redesigned screening. We are now seeking diverse feedback on the distribution method for the screening: live/f2f (face to face), remote, or hybrid and what platforms you prefer on 3 potential aspects: tests of
• interpreting knowledge
• ethical and professional decision making
• performance
For this phase, we are seeking feedback from anyone who has taken an interpreter testing/screening/certification process AND anyone who will be taking one in the future. We seek feedback from students of ASL and interpreting as well!!

Are you a hearing interpreter and have experience with
English to ASL sight interpretation/translation*?
Participate in a study looking to analyze interpretations made via simultaneous interpretation and sight interpretation/translation.

Participant Must Have:
**3+ years of interpreting experience
**RID certification
**Conducted sight interpretation/translation in the past 2 years

Study Includes:
**Simultaneous interpretation task
**Sight interpretation/translation task
**Short guided self review task
*Sight Interpretation/Translation (also known as sight translation) is any kind of interpreting from a written English text into ASL without any auditory aid. Experience includes interpreting English from a slide/form
