Congratulations to our Spring 2026 graduates! The commencement ceremony was held on Thursday, April 30, at the Pete Mathews Coliseum. Among those honored, Emergency Management doctoral graduate Dr. Jake Fast was hooded during the ceremony. The commencement bell ringer was Matthew Miller Small, a graduate of our Bachelor of Science program in Emergency Management. !

Today marks the 15th Anniversary of the April 27th, 2011 Super Tornado Outbreak that hit Alabama and many other states. We take a moment to remember the lives lost and all those impacted. Here is a study conducted by our former student, Ms. Whitney Flynn and Dr. Tanveer Islam- "Spatial and temporal analysis of the 27 April 2011 tornado outbreak in Central Alabama."
