It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear colleague, teacher, mentor, and friend, Dr. Kathleen “Kathy” Bloom.

Dr. Bloom devoted much of her remarkable career to educating and inspiring nurses at the University of North Florida. Her legacy lives on in the countless students she taught, encouraged, and influenced, and in the patients and communities they continue to serve.

We invite our students, alumni, faculty, and friends to honor Dr. Bloom by sharing a memory or reflection about the impact she made in your life. Her impact on UNF Nursing will not be forgotten. 💙

🎉 Making history in nursing education! 🎉

Congratulations to the inaugural clinical group in the newest partnership between the UNF School of Nursing and Mayo Clinic! Twelve senior nursing students have been selected to participate in the Mayo Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) for their Senior Nurse Practicum.

After completing orientation, these future nurses are ready to soar as they begin this exciting clinical experience. We can't wait to see the impact they make! 💙🩺

As we welcome the start of a new semester, we also bid farewell to Dr. Debra Harrison, who retired this summer from the UNF School of Nursing. While her time with us may have been short, the impact she made was lasting. Her commitment, expertise, and support enriched our community in meaningful ways. We thank Dr. Harrison for all she has done and wish her happiness and success in her next adventure.
