What was it like to be a student in Olean in the1980s? Just ask distinguished graduate Meme Yanetsko.

When Yanetsko attended our Cattaraugus County Campus, students took classes in the former Montgomery Ward building on North Union Street. The building housed everything from the library and computer lab to faculty and administrative offices. And yes, students even played football in the parking lot.

Today, that parking lot is the campus quad.

But while a lot has changed over the past 50 years, Yanetsko says some of the things that made the college special remain the same: small classes, supportive faculty and an affordable education close to home.

“People knew my name,” she said.

This afternoon's Career Kickoff event on the Jamestown Campus was a hit among students and employers!

Our students had the opportunity learn about part-time jobs, on-campus positions, and internships from local professionals while networking and enjoying free snacks.

Thanks to all the employers who attended and shared their knowledge with us!

For 50 years, our Cattaraugus County Campus has been more than a place to take classes. It’s where many students find people who believe in them.

Meet three of our staff members who have built their careers around helping students succeed.

From Tammy Skroback, who has spent more than 40 years on campus, to Katherine Abrams and Kaitlyn Caya, who help students with everything from financial aid and registration to finding their way around campus, these employees are part of what makes feel like home.

We are thankful to St. Luke’s Thrift Shop for making a $500 donation to help keep our Jamestown Campus food pantry stocked throughout the academic year. 💛💚

The food pantry provides nutritious food and hygiene products to students who need a little extra support. Donations like this help remove barriers and make it easier for students to focus on their success.
