Rock County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce the availability of "We Back the Badge" yard signs. You can pick up your free yard sign at the Sheriff's Office Front Lobby. Signs are also available at Janesville Police Department, WCLO, and the following local events: Blain's Farm & Fleet on May 17 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Boardtracker on May 20 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Snapper's Game on May 22 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., and Janesville Police Department's Bike Rodeo on June 3 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Thank you to The Gazette, WJVL, and WCLO for providing the yard signs and to Signarama supporting this initiative.

Today is National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Day. So far in 2017 there have been 49 line of duty deaths, an increase of over 30% from this time last year (that does not take into consideration officers who committed su***de as a result of trauma they have experienced). Please take a moment today to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

McFarland K-9 Officer Ryan Copeland’s name has been inscribed at the state and national law enforcement memorials. Now, the McFarland Police Department is working on a local public memorial for the fallen officer.
