⚓ IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR U.S. MARINERS ⚓

Due to the government shutdown, the National Maritime Center (NMC) and all Regional Examination Centers remain CLOSED. Here's what you need to know:

✅ Merchant mariner credentials (National endorsements) and medical certificates expiring between January 1 – April 30, 2026 are extended through June 30, 2026.

✅ The Application Submission Portal (ASAP) remains active — processing resumes when appropriations are restored.

✅ STCW dispensations may be available for mariners with expired endorsements — contact [email protected].

✅ Mariners who started exams before Feb 13, 2026 can resume testing within 60 days of reopening with no penalty.

⚠️ Carry your expired credential AND a copy of the attached letter while sailing.
