We are deeply saddened by the news of Dolly Parton's passing today. She was truly an icon in so many ways beyond her music. She was a light and exemplified love in amazing ways. Her faith was inspiring to millions around the world. She truly embodied Truth, Beauty and Goodness through her servant leadership. The impact she made will be felt for generations 🦋

We were honored to award Dolly a Doctorate of Letters in 1990 for her incredible philanthropic work that truly made and continues to make a difference in the lives of so many in our region and throughout East Tennessee.
