University of St. Francis Founded in 1920 in Joliet, Illinois, the University of St. USF offers competitive academic programming in Joliet, Ill. and Albuquerque, N.M. Clare Campus, and St.

Francis is a nationally ranked, Catholic university serving 3,000 students with bachelor's, master's, doctoral and certificate programs in the arts and sciences, business, education & nursing. In Joliet, there are three campus locations for learning-- the main campus, St. Bonaventure Campus. USF has been on Facebook since June of 2008.

For ten more days, you can catch the work of our recent art program grads in the Art & Design Senior Thesis Exhibition! The exhibit, on display in the Moser Performing Arts Center Gallery through May 29, features the work of recent graduates Karly Ceci, Samantha Gonzalez Figueroa, Lilliana Gutierrez, Kadixamayrin Mireles, Issac Rodriguez, Tatiana Ruiz, Nate Smith and Fatima Villagomez.

Exciting news... Kristin DeBoer and Cathy Nelson from the College of Education have been chosen to serve on subcommittees revising the Teacher Preparation Assessment for the Illinois State Board of Education. Kristin will join the Instructional Delivery subcommittee, and Cathy will be part of the Assessment subcommittee. Congratulations to both hard working faculty members for representing the university and taking part in this very important task!

The College of Education's Student Teacher Appreciation Banquet took place on May 5 during National Teacher Appreciation Week. Graduating Teacher Candidates were honored for their field experiences, and awards were presented. Educator Julie Vitas from Cathedral of St. Raymond School was presented with the William "Buck" Orenic Outstanding Contribution Award for her contributions in support of the mission and conceptual framework of the College of Education. Student awardees included Mackenzie Blizniak (Amy D'Amico Outstanding Student Teacher Award), Paulina Chavez and Lissette Martinez (Amy D’Amico Scholarship recipients) and Olivia Viveros (Richard L. Chavez Family Scholarship recipient). stfrancis.edu/education
