In Principles of CLS lab today, we learned how to tie tourniquets and palpate veins! It’s always a blast teaching a new cohort some new skills. Mrs. Shrable might have even burst into song one or two times…😂 and in our Basic Lab Operations lab, we had Dr. Amy Hyman and Dr. Joseph Richmond come down and show our students what to do in an emergency and even had VR headsets to simulate a tornado warning. It’s so important to be prepared to the unexpected!

This morning I got to deliver the first copies of Little Lab Learners to Kristy, the librarian for University Heights Elementary School. This is part of the 2026 fall Phi Kappa Phi literacy project for the A-State chapter. We are spreading the word about the field of medical laboratory science as a career.
