Did you know many of the wagons used for the Bicentennial Wagon Train 50 years ago were built here in Arkansas? This K8 clip shows a bit behind the scenes of the construction of the wagon. You can see this and other K8 clips on the library’s institutional repository, ARCH.

Huntingburg Wagon Works employees work on a Conestoga wagon for the bicentennial wagon train. One of the workers briefly talks about how the wagon is part of U.S. heritage and shows the plans for building the wagon.

Welcome back, Red Wolves! Our summer hours begin today.

Monday - Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Summer hours will continue until August.
Please be aware that the library will be closed on July 3rd and August 1-2.
As always, our online resources remain available 24/7.

As we observe Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. One such person was PFC. James Downs, who was killed in action on September 8, 1950 during the Korean War. Families receive letters and notices, like the ones shown, to inform them of their loved one’s passing.

While we celebrate Memorial Day, please take some time to remember and honor the men and women in uniform who did not come home.

Interim hours are M-F 7:30am - 5:00pm and run from May 10th through May 25th. During the interim, we will be closed Saturdays and Sundays, as well as Memorial Day.

Our summer hours will begin Tuesday, May 26th.

As always, our online resources remain available 24/7.
