This semester's forum is next month! We're hosting an interview-style forum with Satyan Devadoss, who is a very engaging speaker from the University of San Diego and will be interviewed by WMU's very-own Timothy McGrew.

By the way, October 16th is the Monday of the week Fall Break starts (Break starts on the 18th), so don't go home before Monday night!

We are almost a month away from our next forum!

Time/Date/Venue: On March 17th at 12:30 or 1 PM ET (exact time TBD) over Zoom (virtual).

Speakers: Dr. Melinda Koelling (left), a professor (and chair) of (the Department of) mathematics at WMU; Dr. John Lennox (right), an emeritus professor of mathematics and the history and philosophy of science at the University of Oxford (England).

Topic questions:
1) What is the brain?
2) What is the mind?
3) How do they relate?
4) Is the universe understandable/comprehensible (does mathematics accurately describe physical phenomena in the universe)? If so, why?

Here's a preview into what our next forum will be. It will be on Friday, March 17th over Zoom (virtual) at a time TBD.

Our guest speaker will be Dr. John Lennox, an emeritus professor of mathematics and the history and philosophy of science at Oxford University (England).

Having spoken at many Veritas Forums in the past, there are dozens of clips and full forums that he participated in that you can find on YouTube by searching Veritas Forum, going to their YouTube channel, and looking for Forum titles with his name in the title of the video.

Thank you, everyone, who came out for last night's first-ever Veritas Forum at Western Michigan University!

By the time the forum started, we had a standing-room-only crowd, which impressed all of us on the planning team, so I'd like to give a shout-out and special thank you to everyone who helped advertise the forum!

Stay tuned for more information on our next forum (over Zoom; a virtual forum) with Dr. John Lennox, a mathematician, historian/philosopher of science, and emeritus professor at Oxford University (England)!

Please share this over Facebook because the more people who come, the merrier. It is open to the public community at large in the Kalamazoo area.

Veritas Forums are dialogues between two or more scholars from the sciences, humanities, arts, etc. of differing worldviews to engage students in being able to ask and attempting to afford them answers to deep questions that get at the truth underlying reality.
