We’re excited to announce the 2021 Third Coast Writing Project Writing Marathon!
Under the leadership of our founding director, Dr. Ellen Brinkley, and her merry band of writers, since 1991, the TCWP Writing Marathon has been a favorite time for teacher renewal and engagement.
We invite all TCWP teachers (and their friends) to join us for a renewed 2021 edition of the Writing Marathon. This come-one, come-all, all-outdoors, COVID-safe event will occur on Thursday, June 17, beginning and ending at Wicks Park, downtown Saugatuck.
After an opening writing activity, we’ll then wander, walk, write, engage, and connect. We’ll then meet back up again to share around 2:30 and head home around 3:00.
There is no cost, and we won’t be accepting any donations. All we ask is that you join us and spend the day as teachers engaging in writing. Some special bonuses: Shaun Wayman is planning on leading an expedition to Oxbox School of Art, and Shelley Esman is ready to conduct some wine tasting and explore some of the finer things to be found in town. Regardless, we will all wander and write throughout the day. We also will spend some time remembering and memorializing Ellen, who passed away this year, and reflecting on the effect she had on many of us.
We hope to see you on the 17th. Please use this google doc to sign up. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XjNPLb9sbJYtkRBC_bGapF-m7dysHGTYXg7LekY7a_o/edit?usp=sharing
Remember – bring a friend (or two), too. The more the merrier. Please share this widely.
