University of Hawaii Learning to Grow Learning to Grow (LTG) supports the state's vision that all of Hawai‘i's children will be safe, healthy, and ready to succeed in school.

www.learningtogrowhawaii.org Through its Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) Care Outreach Program, LTG provides statewide educational outreach services to families with children ages birth to 5 and their family, friend, or neighbor (license-exempt) child care providers. This program supports families and care providers in their efforts to provide care that enhances children’s early learning, healt

hy development, and school-readiness.
• LTG provides parents with information about child care options and the importance of the quality of the early learning environment through its Parent Consumer Education Program. The aim of this program is to support parents’ informed decision making in choosing child care for their young children.
• LTG provides publications for early childhood and family service professionals on various topics including Developmental Guidelines and Early Learning Activities for Infants, Toddlers, and Young Preschoolers; and Raising a School-Ready Child. Learning to Grow is a program for:
Parents receiving child care support for children (birth to 5) from the Department of Human Services (DHS); Child Care Providers – the relatives or friends who provide child care for these children; and you – anyone interested in increasing the quality of care of young children.
