The Criminal Justice Department at UMKC is offering a new class for the FALL SEMESTER 2017! CJC 390 (section 003): Topic: MOCK TRIAL/TRIAL ADVOCACY. The class meets every Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:15 for 3 credit hours. The class will be joint lectured by Jennifer Varon Esq. a practicing local attorney and former fedral law clerk and Irene Downs the current head coach for the UMKC Undergraduate Mock Trial program. Although it is a 300 level course it is structured as a introduction and foundational course that explores the trial process. All grade levels are encouraged to enroll INCLUDING FRESHMEN!! Interested in learning more about Mock Trial??? Interested in a class with NO text book. Instead of a text book, this class will explore mock trial principles through a 'case problem' (written just for this class!) inspired by current events involving race and law enforcement. This class will end in a 'mock trial' - who do you want to represent???

UMKC Mock Trial is excited to announce a new partnership with the Criminal Justice & Criminology Department. A NEW Mock Trial class (3-credit, graded) is being offered on Wednesday evening from 6-8:45. The class is open to all UMKC students, and is taught by a practicing attorney in the KC area. There is NO requirement that students in the class participate on the competitive mock trial team. (Class Code: 47500). Also, don't be scared off by the course number - this class is designed for freshman, sophomore, juniors and seniors!

Congratulations to the UMKC Mock Trial team on finishing the Fall semester with an impressive 5-3 record at the Jayhawk Invitational this past weekend at KU.

The team also placed 2nd, with a 6-2 record, just a few weeks ago at the Billiken Barrister's Invitational hosted by St. Louis University.

What a great ending to 2015! And the team is excited and ready to tackle the Spring 2016 competition season!

We have moved the location of the informational sessions! We will be holding our informational sessions this year on Tuesday September 1st from 6:30-7:30pm IN ROOM 211 OF ROYAL HALL and on Wednesday September 2nd from 6:30-7:30pm IN ROOM 206 OF ROYAL HALL. They will no longer be held in the Student Union! We can't wait to gear up for this season with you all!

We will be holding an informational for potential NEW members on September 1st OR 2nd, 2015. Every undergraduate student is welcome to attend to become part of our team and have fun getting introduced to our organization.
