There is still time to join us TONIGHT, at 7:30 p.m. in Arrupe Hall auditorium at Rockhurst University for a FREE lecture presented by Visiting Scholar, Adam Rothman, Ph.D., who is the Director of Georgetown University's Center for the Study of Slavery and its Legacies. This talk will trace the Jesuit's involvement in slavery in early America and the current efforts to reckon with that history at Georgetown and other Jesuit schools. How are American Jesuit colleges and universities addressing their deep shared historical ties to slavery? Join professor Adam Rothman, the Director of Georgetown University’s Center for the Study of Slavery and Its Legacies, at Rockhurst University Thursday, Feb. 29, at 7:30 p.m. as he traces the Jesuit’s involvement in slavery in early American and the current efforts to reckon with that history at Georgetown and other Jesuit schools. This event is co-sponsored by the Georgetown Club of Kansas City and Jesuit Friends and Alumni Network-Kansas City. George Abraham, Leila Chatti, Marlin M. Jenkins, Karyna McGlynn, Erika Meitner and Khadijah Queen will read a selection of works. Beverages available for purchase—snacks provided while supplies last. Join us in the Greenlease Gallery at Rockhurst University THIS FRIDAY NIGHT FEB. 2, 5-7 PM for the opening reception celebration of "Revelaciones"--selected oil paintings and drawings by visiting artist Patrick McGrath Muñiz. The artist will present a gallery talk at 6 p.m. Feb. 2 AND will present a $15 per person hands-on workshop Saturday, FEB 3, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for the public (open to ages 10 years and up and FREE for Rockhurst University students.
