During the KCAI Virtual Commencement yesterday it was announced that Ceramics graduate Debbie Magyar took Best In Show at this year's BFA Exhibition! Here's a detail of Debbie's beautiful tile installation "Nostos Algos Redux". The exhibition opens to the public on August 28 at the H&R Block Artspace. We will post more images from the exhibition throughout the week. Congrats to ALL the 2020 graduates at KCAI and elsewhere.

In March of this year, the COVID-19 virus smashed a bad-hop grounder and the Ceramics department students fielded it cleanly. Welcome to Fielding, the 2020 spring exhibition.

Congrats to all, digitally present or not! The Class of 2020 will hold a special place in my heart.

What do you do when the graduation ceremony is on hold til the end of the summer? Some of the KCAI Clay Seniors gathered together (digitally) for an impromptu graduation picture. For the first time anyone can remember the photographer had to yell "OK, look at the camera, except those of you driving!" Go Seniors Go!

Thanks to Margeaux Claude, KCAI Ceramics Class of 2013, for talking to all the students via the internet this morning. Margeaux spoke about her adventures in the Design World after graduation and her most recent project, studying the intersection of design, manufacturing and the artist in Hungary on a Fulbright Scholarship. Other visiting artists and critics recently included KCAI Clay grads Andrew Castaneda, Colin Yoon and Chase Travaille, curator Raechell Smith, gallerist and artist Marcus Cain, and KCAI Faculty member Eleanor Lim-Midyett. We're moving along online and we appreciate all the generous help from everyone!
