Saturday, May 16, educators from NH and VT gathered in Norich, Vermont for the In Bloom conference to share promising practices in nature-based early childhood education. Keynote speakers presented children's perspectives of outdoor risky play (Erin Tanzer), and the expansion of nature-based programs in schools across Vermont (David Sobel and Eliza Minnucci). "The Critical Skills Course was a favorite of mine during my time at Antioch because it gave me a vision of the kind of teaching I've always wanted to do and equipped me with tools to get started. Since then, it has opened me up to a wide array of things like Model UN that incorporate many of the skills the critical skills laid out. I've designed units and projects that have students engaging with science in authentic ways and sharing it with our school community. Many of these things were laid out from my time at Antioch and its ultimately made me a better teacher. " - Monte Woodard

This summer we are holding the 40th Critical Skills Classroom Immersion! The course begins on June 12th. If you are new to the Antioch community - we have a Try It Out rate! Check out the link in the comments to learn more!
