The Cohen Institute is pleased to announce its new cohort of research affiliates!

Led by Prof. Dana Smith, the Cohen Institute's Assistant Director of Research, these affiliates from a wide range of academic disciplines will be working to advance important research and conversations related to Holocaust and Genocide Studies in the months ahead.

The researchers come from wide-ranging disciplines including Nursing, Journalism, Math, History, English, Natural Resources and the Environment, and Holocaust and Genocide Studies, and will apply their own unique perspective to the field of holocaust and genocide studies

Keene State College and the Keene State English department are thrilled to share that professor Dr. Brinda Charry’s new novel HOCUS POCUS is being published this month and already has starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews and Publisher’s Weekly, and is the Library Journal fiction pick of the month!

Owls in STEM! This summer, Keene State student Gemma P has been working in a lab at the University of Maine, Orono where she is contributing to the Sustainable Wood to Fuel and Fish Feed (SWF3) project.

In her words: "The goal of the project is to turn forest and agricultural byproducts into sustainable biofuels. My position focuses on developing solvents to break down wood in the first step of the process."

It's the kind of hands-on science that doesn't always make it into a course catalog but is exactly the kind of opportunity we love seeing our students take on. (Giant green pencil for illustration purposes only. Not technically lab-approved.)

The Theatre and Dance graduate earned his way to Open Jar Institute in Times Square, training with Broadway artists by day and watching them perform at night. Watch Kei tell the story of his summer in his own words. This is the kind of hands-on, industry-connected training that's a hallmark of Keene State's Theatre and Dance program.
