KSU Maternal Metabolic Health Research

KSU Maternal Metabolic Health Research Research team dedicated to improving maternal health outcomes in Georgia. ARE YOU PREGNANT AND WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN HEALTH-RELATED RESEARCH?

If you are in the first trimester of your first pregnancy and live in the Greater Metro-Atlanta area, you may qualify to participate in a research study conducted at Kennesaw State University in the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services. Our study examines the complex relationships among body size, physical activity, and metabolic health in pregnancy. By participating, you can help improve

maternal health outcomes! Women of all racial backgrounds, body sizes, and activity levels are invited to participate. The data collected from this study will be used to help determine risk factors for gestational diabetes. We are enrolling new participants in early pregnancy now. Participants must meet these criteria:
· Age 18-35 years
· Between 11-15 weeks into pregnancy at first visit
· No previous births (or previous pregnancies that were longer than 20 weeks)
· No previous or current diabetes
· Not a current smoker
· Must have transportation to make 4 visits to our lab in Kennesaw

Participants will receive $350 for completing all 4 visits (3 visits during pregnancy and 1 post-partum visit) and health questionnaires, food and activity tracking, between visits. If you or someone you know would like more information, please contact lead investigator Dr. Katherine Ingram at [email protected] or 470-578-6891.
