"In order to understand South Asian culture, it is important to know what defines South Asian culture. The subcontinent of South Asia comprises of India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. Between these countries there is an incredible amount of diversity in terms of cultural traditions. There are however some overall similarities. Within South Asia the main religions consist of Hi

nduism, Islam, and Sikhism. These religions manifest in similar religious traditions across the region. Religions aside, each South Asian region has its own unique traits. Essentially, the people of South Asia have many cultural differences in addition to cultural similarities. It is through celebrating these differences and similarities that SASA encourages an overall healthy understanding of this rich and diverse region. We actively encourage student of all ethnicities to help us foster a wider understanding of South Asian Culture."
