It's New to the Nest Wednesday, where we introduce two new fearless members of our Kennett flock and formally welcome them to SEMO! 👏

Today, we welcome Michele Buchanan, who plans to major in early childhood education, and Jalynn Coffer, who plans to major in nursing.

We are excited to have them as Redhawks, and we can't wait to see them soar at SEMO-Kennett! ❤

It is our hope that the SEMO Educators Advantage program will provide an opportunity for Kennett educators to advance in their careers without breaking the bank, leaving the area, or resigning from their current position.

They will now receive a 20% tuition discount when they enroll in a SEMO degree or certificate program of their choice. With several options online, the field of educational expansion is endless.

We’re proud to invest in our educators so that they may continue to invest in our students and community.

Affordability, accessibility, and local area advantages - that’s what SEMO is all about.

The Kennett #39 School District is now partnering with SEMO through the SEMO Educators Advantage program.

This collaboration expands access for Kennett faculty and staff to meaningful academic growth and professional development opportunities. It’s another step forward in supporting educators where they are, while continuing to invest in the strength of our local schools and the future of education across our region.

We're excited to announce that Kennett #39 School District is partnering with SEMO through the SEMO Educators Advantage program.

This program aims to provide affordable, accessible opportunities for Kennett faculty and staff to elevate their professional knowledge and qualifications as educators through the University's online programs by offering a tuition discount.

SEMO President Dr. Brad Hodson shared this statement on the partnership:

“Partnering with Kennett is another step in SEMO’s mission to lead, not follow,” said Dr. Hodson. “We’re not just supporting educators, but we’re building a powerful network of leaders who are shaping the future of education across the region. With each new partnership, SEMO's impact grows, and we’re proud to be setting the pace.”

We are overjoyed that our community educators will benefit from this partnership, and we look forward to seeing its impact on our community and its students.

We’re excited to get to share all of our Redhawks who made the Dean’s List for the spring 2026 semester! 📕

All of these students achieved at least a 3.75 GPA for the semester, and took at least 12 credit hours. 🧠

We’re overjoyed to share that we had a dozen SEMO-Kennett students make the President’s List for the spring 2026 semester! 🤩

All of these Redhawks achieved a 4.0 GPA for the semester, and took at least 12 credit hours. 👏🏻

They also made the Dean’s List by default, which requires students to have a 3.75 GPA! 🧠

Congratulations to these members of our flock! We look forward to sharing others who made the Dean’s List tomorrow. 👀
