Kent State University College of Nursing was well represented at the 2026 AWHONN - The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses Ohio Annual Conference!

We’re proud to see our Kent State nursing community come together to learn, connect, share knowledge, and support one another. Nursing faculty member Alisha Lickwar, DNP, WHNP-BC, MSN, RN, spoke on OB emergencies, while recent DNP graduate DeWanda Porter presented on bias in healthcare. Faculty member, Ohio Section Chair for AWHONN, and conference committee member Marilyn Nibling, DNP, APRN, served as the conference emcee.

Our Kent State nursing students and alumni were also there, making connections and gaining valuable experiences as they continue to grow in the nursing profession. Adjunct faculty member Rachel Peterson presented a mystery case at the conference as well.

We love seeing our Kent State nursing family represented at AWHONN Ohio!
