"No one could tell me where my soul might be, I searched for God but he eluded me, I sought my brother out, and found all three."
~ Howard Crosby
Recently, Alpha Epsilon Pi celebrated its 100th Anniversary, with over 180 chapters on its chapter roll. The Phi Deuteron Chapter at Kent State currently has 32 brothers and continues to grow and expand each academic year. Our chapter's annual philanthr
opy event is Latkefest, where this past academic year we were able to raise over $6,000 and donate it to Save a Child's Heart. Alpha Epsilon Pi was able to reach it's $700,000 commitment to seven philanthropic organizations three years ahead of schedule! At this year's International Convention in Toronto, Canada, we presented the final checks to ELEM, Friends of the IDF, Jewish National Fund, Keshet, Leket, Save a Child's Heart, and Sharsheret, fulfilling our $100,000 commitment to each of them. As we move forward, our Official Philanthropy Program (OPP) will continue to instill the ideals of Tikkun Olam with our new $1,000,000 commitment to 10 Jewish organizations chosen by a panel of undergraduate Brothers. We aim to give back through the OPP and foster the development of our Brothers into responsible citizens, as they become the Jewish leaders of tomorrow. The current $1,000,000 commitment will provide a $100,000 donation to each of the following organizations: BBYO, B'nai B'rith International's Disaster Relief Program, Gift of Life, Heroes to Heroes Foundation, Israel Children's Cancer Foundation, IDF Widows and Orphans Organization, Innovation: Africa, MadaTech Museum, Simon Wiesenthal Center, and Taglit-Birhtright Israel.
