Myth Madness Finale: The Krampus

So we've come to the end of our series of mythological beings, creatures, and heroes, folks. And what better way to end the year with a little bit of Christmas cheer - if you can call it that - with our dear old friend, the Krampus. The Krampus is a creature primarily known throughout Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and some of the Scandinavian countries as the cheerful demonic companion of dear old Saint Nick - and yes, you did read that correctly. It has been swell blogging about what little recipes I have and sharing the cooking process. I look forward to cooking for the holidays this year. Thanksgiving was nice and I ate way too many starches but I sure do like cooking. I meant to take a selfie during dinner but I was too busy shoving food in my face. My birthday and Christmas are coming up, and I can't wait to eat more food on those days too! Bye, Dana Saul

The semester is winding down but the sports are not. However, this will be the last post. The women's basketball team played Howard Payne last week. They just came up short having the final score be 58-49. SU you fell behind in the first half with the score being 8 minutes in the very beginning of the game. However, they fought hard but could not get there first W this season. [ 36 more words. ]

Gnosco: Signing Off

This is the last post, so there's not much to say. It's chilly outside, and it's perfect to curl up with hot tea and a good book. I know I have stacks and stacks in my to-read pile on my bookshelf, and it just keeps getting bigger. So I hope you all get to read some of your reading stack over the break, as do I. For this last week of the semester we continue to have our athletes competing against other colleges. I had lots of fun with this group blog because it has been of something that I truly enjoy. I'll admit that, at the start of the year, soccer was somewhat of a bore to me. Not that I hate the sport, but I simply did not watch it enough. [ 72 more words. ]

Sadly I had to work tonight. I didn't get to go home, see my family, or even eat any dinner whatsoever. I literally just got home. My feet are hurting and my voice is almost gone. Not to mention I got yelled at by angry guests, who my manager didn't hesitate to show to the door. It was an emotional roller-coaster of an evening. [ 57 more words. ]

Myth Madness: Coyote

Yeah. Last week I couldn't even pronounce the chick's name and this time it's just...Coyote. Well, at least I can type it this time. Native American beliefs varied from tribe to tribe, but this diety comes from the wild west. Native Americans are very spiritual and deep rooted in nature so many of their gods are based on animals and their surrounding world. [ 279 more words. ]

What Could Be Better Than Thanksgiving Pies? http://wp.me/p2LtAY-BW

Since Thanksgiving is next week, I wanted to share some awesome things we have at my work in celebration for the holidays. We have our annual spread of holiday pies available (finally!) and I've been waiting all year for them! I tried to snap a few pictures, but it was kind of difficult because I didn't want to get in trouble for having my phone out at work. [ 128 more words. ]
