A&M–Central Texas student Zachary Whitt loves to read, loves to spend time in the library, and loves to study history. Believe it or not, Whitt developed an interest in European history after being introduced to the subject by playing video games.
.. and he still plays video games as well.

Zachary Whitt’s undeniable love of history didn’t come from a classroom experience. He didn’t fall in love with the stories of ordinary people who made indelible marks on society, culture, and political outcomes. Journey to a degree in History!

Our College of Arts and Sciences just cut the ribbon to open a new outdoor forensics lab. Students in our criminal justice programs will be able to investigate staged crime scenes in the great outdoors. They will learn not only the basics of investigation, but also how the environment influences the evidence.

Have you ever wondered why history is so interesting, or how some people tend to get lost in the past?

Communications Coordinator Demetra Paizanis explains the importance of studying history, saying "Historians are, in essence, detectives piecing together incomplete clues to understand motives, conflicts, systems, and consequences. And unlike detectives, they can’t always ask the witnesses, who are—unfortunately for them—usually dead."
