The URI Percussion Studio is very sad to acknowledge the passing of studio alum Zach Friedland. Zach was a passionate and energetic composer and conductor, as well as a great supporter of the studio and the Music Department as a whole. His presence on campus and throughout the area will be sorely missed.

We will share more details about memorial events as they become available. In the meantime, please keep his family in your thoughts.

I am VERY proud of the work our ensemble did this year, under challenging circumstances. They rose to the occasion and we made some beautiful music together this year!

Hi Percussion Studio alumni, hope you're all well! Please consider filling out this survey.

Hi Percussion Studio alumni, hope you're all well! Please consider filling out this survey.

The State of Rhode Island's proposed FY21 budget includes a bond question for funding the Fine Arts Improvement project ($57.3M) with a special election to be scheduled on March 2, 2021. While not yet officially approved, we have received good feedback about the bond, and we are actively working to ensure it moves forward.

We need your help as we continue to advocate to our state legislators for the importance of this renovation not just for URI students, but also for the state of Rhode Island. To that end, I hope you can take five minutes to complete this survey, which is so we can gain a better understanding of what our fine arts graduates are doing with their degrees after graduation, where you are living, what your salary range is, and how satisfied you are with your degree experience. This information will help us demonstrate to the state legislators and RI community how a degree from our Departments of Art, Music, and Theatre has positively impacted your lives, as well as how URI's art, music and theatre graduates are contributing to the economy.

Despite the many challenges, we're very proud of the work we did this semester, and the sense of comraderie that made music-making one of the enjoyable parts of the semester. YT videos of the group's repertoire forthcoming, stay tuned!
