You are cordially invited to a free admission concert this Thursday, May 21 at 7:00 PM at the URI Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.

Join us for an inspiring evening featuring a chamber sinfonietta of distinguished URI faculty, alumni, and professional musicians from across New England, under the direction of Dr. Luis Viquez, Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of Rhode Island.

Calling all URI Music Alums and Friends of the URI Music Department! Come join Mark Conley and members of the URI Concert Choir in Spain next late May / Early June for a performance of the Faure Requiem... AND and a separate concert featuring a new work by John Rutter, with the composer conducting! Mark has been invited by MidAm International to conduct the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès in Barcelona.  
There will be opportunities to rehearse in the new, improved Fine Arts Center just before leaving as well - so come see how much has changed since the last time you were here.

Join us for one or both weeks at the URI Summer Music Academy! We create pathways for students to participate in both large and small ensembles, giving everyone a chance to hone their listening, leadership, and collaboration skills.

Chamber concerts and large ensemble performances will take place at the end of Weeks 1 and 2, celebrating all of the hard work and music-making throughout the program!

Check the website for more details; we can’t wait for all of the music, friendships, and fun to begin on July 19, 2026!

Our very own Dr. Luis Víquez, URI's Director of Orchestral Studies, will both perform as a clarinet soloist and conduct the Chamber Orchestra of Barrington at St. John's - COBSJ tomorrow May 3 at 3:00 pm in works by Mozart and Beethoven.
