VUB held our monthly academy with Presenter Marcos Alvarado on How to Cope with PTSD. Marcos is a former participant who will soon be graduating in May. He presented an education filled presentation to our Veterans and held a Q &A that helped our Veterans connect and explore additional ways to cope. Our Veterans also shared their experiences on how they became resilient in their struggles. It truly was a success!! We also surprised Marcos with a cake to acknowledge his hard work and upcoming graduation!!

TRIO Veterans Upward Bound is Now Recruiting Veterans!

The TRIO Veterans Upward Bound Program at Texas A&M University–Kingsville is currently recruiting veterans who are interested in preparing for college or continuing their education.

Our free program supports veterans who plan to attend a four-year university, community college, or technical/trade school.

A lot of veterans tell us they’re interested in school but feel it's been a long time since they've been in a classroom. Our program helps bridge that gap so the transition back to college is easier.

Our program is free for eligible veterans, and we help with things like:

Refreshing math, writing, and study skills
Navigating college admissions
Financial aid and GI Bill guidance
Academic advising and support once you're enrolled.

If you are a veteran considering going back to school or training for a new career, we are here to help you succeed.
