The archives will be at the 2025 Tamalada festival this Saturday! Come say hi and share your favorite memories and traditions of tamales, tamaladas, or any holiday food traditions in the Conner Museum starting at 11am. Have cool tamal-related pictures? We want to see them!

Did you know? In 1938, over 12,000 pecan shellers, primarily Mexican American women, walked off the job in San Antonio to protest low wages and harsh working conditions. 🌰✨Led by activist Emma Tenayuca, the San Antonio Pecan Shellers Strike became the largest strike in the city’s history, ultimately leading to a wage increase for the workers. 💪

Fun Find Friday is here! 🥳We discovered some early blueprints from the 1920s to 1930s of the South Texas State Teachers College (later Texas A&I and then TAMUK). The Administration Building (now Manning) was the second building on campus.🥈 It is also where classes, the library, and offices were located in those first years!
