Congratulations to Dimetrius Brandon (PhD student in kinesiology and sport studies) for receiving the Jimmy and Ileen Cheek Graduate Student Medal of Excellence and Amanda Galbraith (postdoc in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education) for receiving the Chancellor's Award for University Engagement. It's always great to celebrate the achievements of graduate students and postdocs at UT!

The Jimmy and Ileen Cheek Graduate Student Medal of Excellence is awarded annually to an outstanding UT PhD graduate student who demonstrates high academic potential and achievement, leadership and community involvement, commitment to and passion for their field of study, personal sacrifice for their education, and effort above and beyond the call of duty.

The University Engagement Award recognizes a staff member who extends their commitment to the university through exemplary participation in volunteer activities within the university by volunteering to assist with events or programs, service on committees, or working on special projects that are outside of the scope of their normal job duties.
