University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture

University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture Delivering to Tennessee and beyond through research, education and Extension.

The Institute is truly at the core of the University of Tennessee land-grant mission of educating, discovering and connecting. We fulfill that mission through the hard work of very dedicated faculty and staff. The Institute’s four major units are the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, the College of Veterinary Medicine, UT AgResearch and UT Extension. The Institute contributes

to improving the quality of lives and enhancing the agricultural, economic, environmental and social well-being of Tennessee. Our clientele include students, families, farmers, 4-Hers, agribusiness and the general public. Whether it is 4-H youth, owners of animals treated by the Veterinary Medical Center, students who are exceptionally well served and have a close relationship with their professors, or agricultural companies and Tennessee farmers with whom the Institute is engaged through Extension and AgResearch; we focus on a better Tennessee. From research on diseases of humans and animals to producing new plant cultivars for Tennessee, our faculty are producing cutting edge science that create solutions for real problems facing Tennesseans. We have a county Extension office in each of the 95 counties in Tennessee and 10 research and education centers across the state.
