The Tennessee Collegiate Horsemen's Association welcomed Knoxville Police Department's Mounted Patrol Unit to the Brehm Animal Science Arena for Thursday, October 9th's meeting. All four horses and five Officers joined the group as they discussed the Mounted Patrol Unit's mission, training program, and capabilities. Students observed different maneuvers, to include a mock arrest from horseback. Thank you to each of the Officers and horses Phyl, Ranger, Cormac, and Summitt for their time and VOLunteer spirit!

For those local who want to assist in relief efforts post Hurricane Helene: The Tennessee State Department of Agriculture has requested that the UT College of Veterinary Medicine serve as the lead for animal-related supplies that have been requested from our affected communities in East Tennessee. We will be accepting donations from the campus community and public at the Brehm Animal Science Arena, in conjunction with UTIA, 2506 River Drive, Knoxville on the following days/times:

Tuesday, October 1: 5-7 pm
Wednesday, October 2: 2-6 pm
Thursday, October 3: 5-7 pm
Friday, October 4: 2-6 pm

Please follow signs to the drop-off point. If needed, additional times will be added to the schedule for drop-offs. Please ONLY bring the supplies requested on the list below

Dog/puppy food: dry or canned
Cat/kitten food: dry or canned
Grain/Pellets for livestock including horses, cattle, sheep/goats, and poultry
Square bales of hay. Please DO NOT donate round bales.

- Friday, August 24th on Pedestrian Walkway during the Student Engagement Fair (4:00pm-6:00pm).

- Wednesday, August 28th after the ANSC Smoker in Brehm Animal Science Arena or 7:00pm (whichever is first).
