This weekend, four of our Brothers attended Future Greek Leaders hosted by our OSFL Office.

Future Greek Leaders is a Weekend Retreat where members of each Organization on campus come together to learn about their strengths as individuals and how they can be used to become the next generation of Leaders in Greek Life.

Archon Auden Van Laeken, and former Archon Gabe Cruccini served as Team Leaders for the weekend, assisting 20 Facilitators with 100 FGLs and contributing to programming throughout the Retreat.

Brothers Heath Atkinson and Frankie Cipriano attended as FGLs, having been nominated as a couple of the many rising leaders in the Alpha Sigma Chapter.

Kudos to all these men on an amazing weekend.

The Alpha Sigma Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at The University of Tennessee is incredibly proud and excited to announce that Brother and Philanthropy Chairman Jack Dyess will be riding The Ability Experience’s “Journey of Hope” across the United States.

Each year, more than 100 men embark on a cross-country trip to test their limits, spread awareness, and celebrate the abilities of all people. With three routes kicking off on the West Coast, teams spend the summer crossing the country over a combined 12,000 miles with an arrival at the Capitol Lawn in Washington DC to mark the end of a life-changing event. Along the way, the team spreads the message of disability awareness through local media and makes stops at partner organizations where we deliver joy to our friends from the disability community.

As Jack prepares for The Journey of Hope, we will be raising money to support his campaign. Please consider supporting by donating to The Ability Experience using the Link in Bio.

The Ability Experience is the philanthropic initiative of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity that remains, to this day, an unparalleled success in the Greek world. Founded in 1977, we strive to instill a passion for lifelong service in our fraternity members while helping to empower people living with disabilities.

Open Letter from the President to the Pi Kappa Phi - Alpha Sigma Parent's Club:

As we enter the new year, I would like to formally introduce myself to all of you. My name is Auden Van Laeken, I am the President of the Alpha Sigma Chapter for the 2024 Calendar Year. I am a Junior at the University pursuing a degree in Construction Science with the intent of becoming a Project Engineer upon graduation in May of 2025.

Before being elected as President, I served as our Chapter's Secretary, as well as serving 1.5 years on the UT Interfraternity Council as the Vice President of Judicial Affairs. Through those combined leadership opportunities, I was able to learn how to be an effective servant leader.

My purpose for creating this page, was with the goal of creating a bridge for my Executive Council to communicate directly with you all, the parents.

As President, I not only have an obligation to serve our members, but also the family's that are supporting our Chapter financially and by taking the time to visit us.

This page will allow us as a Chapter to share important dates, chapter updates, and announcements that we believe provide you the transparency you deserve as a parent of this Chapter.

I would also like to take the time to go ahead and share the goals Executive Council has committed to for 2024.

- Brotherhood, we are committed to creating a family away from home for our members.
- Retention, we are committed to retaining 100% of our Associate Members throughout our Associate Member Education Process.
- External Relationships, we are committed to creating both social and professional opportunities for all of our members.

With all of that, I hope that you all find this page to be beneficial as you support us through 2024. Feel free to reach out to me, or contact me through this post. I also hope to see all of you at our Annual Mother's Weekend this spring, April 20th for our end of year awards and celebration of all of our Chapter's Mothers.

Sincerely,

Auden Van Laeken, Archon
