ALUMNI CHOIR - This is our second year for our alumni choir. I know several of you attended last year, and we would love to have even more of you participate this year. We would like to invite all PSCC Choir Alumni to join our current choir students for a special song on our upcoming Spring Choral Concert. Concert details are listed below:

Who: All PSCC Choir Alumni
What: Pellissippi State's 2026 Spring Choral Concert
When: Thursday, April 30th at 7:00pm (optional rehearsal at 5:15pm that evening)
Where: CPAC (Clayton Performing Arts Center in the Alexander Building on the Hardin Valley Campus)

Alumni will join current choral students to perform a very special song called "When I Hear Music” by Michael G. Martin. I know many of you sung this with Bill Brewer. We will conclude the concert with our traditional Spring closer, "The Lord Bless You and Keep You" by Peter Lutkin.

Attire is concert black for current choral students if you wish to match them, but specific concert attire is not necessary for you to participate. Come as you are and wear what is comfortable. Meagan Humphreys will offer a rehearsal of the Martin piece at 5:15 PM on the day of the concert. Rehearsal will be held on stage in the CPAC. Please print your music and put in a black folder for the concert if you are able. If you are unable to attend the rehearsal, please don't let that deter you from joining us.

Please plan to attend and participate if your schedule allows. I would LOVE to see each of you and hope you can join us for this very special evening sharing in song together once again.

Please send me your email if you would like a PDF of the music. ~Peggy ([email protected])

Congratulations to Pellissippi State graduate Brett Beard and his barbershop quartet, Full Effect, for winning “Next Generation Varsity Quartet” award at the Barbershop Harmony Society in Kentucky this past week! This international competition hosted some of the most talented barbershop quartets from around the world, and Full Effect’s victory gives them the honor of best college quartet of 2023.

Beard earned his Associate of Fine Arts degree in music this past spring and has been heavily involved with the music program since becoming a student in 2020. Brett’s participation in the Variations and Concert Chorale choirs and his roles as tenor section leader, student conductor and directing his own barbershop quartet allowed him to pursue his passion for music all the way up to graduation. Pellissippi State choir director Meagan Humphries congratulates Brett stating, “All of us music faculty are immensely proud of Brett and his hard work and accomplishments; they are truly well-deserved.”

Full Effect consists of Brett Beard, Andrew Easterling, Caleb Hayes and Wyatt McCarter and are coached by Brandon Guyton. Congratulations to Full Effect!
