Congratulations to Nafis Arefin and Demitria Poulos, who were both selected to attend prestigious national conferences!

Arefin submitted a research abstract to the Cardiovascular Implants and Durability Conference in Pacific Grove, California, where he was chosen as one of six finalists in the student competition.

Poulos was invited to the Rising Stars in Mechanical Engineering workshop at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a highly selective event for female graduate students and PhD holders pursuing careers in academia.

Originally from Hyderabad, India, Sai Rangoon is far from her Kuchipudi guru. However, her experience with dance continually gives her the confidence and skills to succeed as a biomedical engineer. Now in her final year at UT, Rangoon is working a co-op at Siemens Healthineers and serving as the treasurer of UT’s chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society. Logan Goodbred wasn’t sure what career path he wanted to pursue when attending the 2023 Fall Engineering Expo. At the Expo, he connected with Siemens Healthineers, leading to a co-op and Goodbred pursuing a career in medical imaging.

Goodbred served as a co-op with Siemens during the spring and summer of 2024 as a systems engineering intern, troubleshooting scanners and learning more about how innovative medical devices can help people. Read more about his journey at the link below!
