OLC IT students Johnnie Plenty Bull and Leonard Lone Hill participated in this amazing opportunity.
From September 14–16, TCU students gathered at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus for the AIM-AHEAD AI/ML Readiness Program.
Students from Diné College, Oglala Lakota College, Sisseton Wahpeton College, Bay Mills Community College, and Little Priest Tribal College spent three days learning about machine learning alongside faculty from the Colorado School of Public Health.
The gathering builds on virtual learning students have completed throughout the program, including using statistical software and data to better understand health challenges facing American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
And their work isn’t finished! Students will return to Colorado in November to continue building their skills and exploring how data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning can support healthier Native communities.
