STAR Week is in full swing! Yesterday, we found out late in the day that our microphone was not working, so we missed the chance to feature many of the new V-Hawks we met.

But that did not stop us from having great conversations about study abroad opportunities, both faculty-led and individual programs.

A highlight from yesterday’s event was when a new V-Hawk shared why they chose Viterbo. During the campus tour, a student took the time to help them, and that personal connection truly made a difference. We are so happy to hear how a warm welcome can impact someone’s experience.

Just back from an incredible 18-day study program in South Africa, Emma Schoen shares her experience with us! After a long 44-hour journey, we finally sat down with Emma to hear all about her adventure.

Emma graduated from Viterbo this year with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish.

Our students in Seville, Spain are having an amazing time! They visited the beautiful Parque de María Luisa and the iconic Plaza de España last week. They also toured the largest Gothic cathedral in the world — an unforgettable experience! 🏰✨

Exciting news! For the second year in a row, our Viterbo University students made the news in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa! 📰🇿🇦

As part of their faculty-led study abroad program, the students walked the historic streets that shaped South Africa’s liberation movement, visiting landmarks like City Hall and the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. They also took part in community service projects with Siyabonga: Helping Hands for Africa, supporting orphaned children and helping equip youth with computer skills and educational opportunities. Their work contributes to ongoing efforts to revitalize Pietermaritzburg through heritage tourism and community development, fostering meaningful connections between South Africa and the United States.

They explored the charming Barrio Santa Cruz, visited the beautiful town of Ronda, toured La Gitana Bodega to learn about the making of Manzanilla wine, and went kayaking!
