MEET THE TEAM: Hailey Hotvedt ❤️‍🔥

Hailey is a senior Social Work Major with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Burlington, WI!

✨ What has been your favorite memory on the team this year?

Two of my favorite memories from this year have been our Ashwaubenon trip or our trip to the NAIA nationals in Kansas!

✨ What advice do you have for recruits thinking about dancing at Viterbo?

If you’re thinking about dancing at Viterbo, DO IT!! Easily the best decision I have ever made! The idea of being a student athlete may feel overwhelming, but on this team, you have so many resources and support systems to truly make your experience the best it possibly can be! You will learn so much about yourself and gain so many new friendships and connections!   ✨ Who do you look up to on the team?

I look up to Megan Sobotta! Megan has such a positive impact on the team. She is such a light in every room she walks in, works so incredibly hard, and is so deserving of her successes! Megan truly inspires me and so many others each day, and I am so lucky to have been able to have had four years on the team with her!   ✨ Who do you want to thank for your dance journey?

I want to thank all of my dance teachers, coaches, and family for my dance journey. I want to thank Coach Anna, Emily, and Nyah for their endless support throughout my college career. The support they have given me is unreal, and I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for me! I also want to thank my family for always being my biggest cheerleaders! I would not be able to do it without them!

We LOVE you, Hailey! ❤️

MEET THE TEAM: Megan Sobotta ❤️‍🔥

Megan is a Senior Nursing Major from Eau Claire, WI and is graduating this Saturday!

✨ What has been your favorite memory on the team this year?

My favorite memory from this season was performing our hip hop routine at state!

✨ What advice do you have for recruits thinking about dancing at Viterbo?

My advice to recruits thinking about dancing at Viterbo is to believe in yourself and go for it! The idea of being a student athlete can be intimidating but being on VUDT gives you a built in supportive family that makes the experience so much better.

✨ Who do you look up to on the team?

One of the people on the team I look up to is Hailey. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does and has so much love for dance and her teammates!

✨ Who do you want to thank for your dance journey?

I want to thank all of the coaches I’ve had throughout my dance journey who have had part in shaping me to the person and dancer I am today. Including my high school coaches Sara and Emily for pushing me and giving me the confidence to continue dancing in college and VUDT coaches Anna and Emily for supporting me as a student athlete. I also want to thank my family for being my biggest cheerleaders always!

MEET THE TEAM: Erin Walters ❤️‍🔥

Erin is a senior Communication Sciences and Disorders Major with minors in Neuroscience and Psychology from Houston, Minnesota!

She’ll be graduating this Saturday 🎉 and then attending grad school at the University of Iowa to get her Doctorate of Audiology! 🙌🏻

✨What has been your favorite memory on the team so far?

My favorite memory of the team was everyone jumping into the pool in our pajamas at one of the competitions after our lip synch battles

✨What advice do you have for recruits thinking about being part of VUDT?

My advice for recruits is to just go for it! You will have a built in group of friends on campus right away. Having teammates to lean on makes college more fun and less scary as well.

✨Who do you look up to on the team?

I really look up to Megan Sobotta. She’s been my roommate for the past few years and has become one of my best friends in the world. She works so hard and always has such a positive attitude and a smile to share.

✨Who do you want to thank for your dance journey?

I want to thank my parents for their endless support throughout the years. I would not have been able to dance without them. I also want to thank my best friends for being with me along the way and for pushing me to work hard but also to slow down and enjoy the ride!
