Good afternoon. I wanted to share with the Dvine 9 Family the passing of our Brother, the towering figure from Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, Brother Rev. Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr. Many of us are aware of the impact Rev. Jackson had on Black America from working with Dr. King on operation Bread Basket, to witnessing Dr. King's assassination, from introducing Operation Push to his bid for being the first Black person to be on the Democratic Primary Ticket in all 50 states, from changing the census naming of Blacks and Negros to African-Americans to paving the way for the first Black President, Barack Obama. He was also a force Globally orchestrating the release of hostages in 1985 and 1999 when politicians had no way. He was our diplomat and our brother. Not one of our leaders has been perfect, but he cared about Black people and today we honor the life of Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. Rest in Power.

to Rev. Jesse Jackson. Today, we honor a giant whose voice, courage, and love for our people shaped generations. Reverend Jesse Jackson was not only a civil rights icon—he was family to the NAACP.
His legacy sits at the heart of our work and at the center of this nation’s fight for justice. We carry his light forward. https://naacp.org/articles/naacp-honors-life-and-legacy-reverend-jesse-l-jackson-sr-son-movement
