Congratulations to LCAD Animation grad Daniela Abarca, whose animated short “Creep” has been selected for the 27th season of FineCut, PBS SoCal’s acclaimed showcase of emerging filmmakers! 🎬✨

“Creep” will air as part of the “All Is Lost!” episode on October 29 at 7 p.m. on PBS SoCal and will also be available to stream on the PBS app.

Join us on campus for Porsche Irvine's Cars & Coffee! ☕🏎️

This Sunday, September 6th, LCAD hosts its first-ever Cars & Coffee event, presented in partnership with Porsche Irvine and featuring 100 handpicked vehicles, celebrating timeless automotive design. Stop by, bring a friend, grab coffee and pizza from Funked Up Pizza Co., and spend the morning with the LCAD community.

LCAD MFA graduate and mentor Ler Chang has been making her mark across Southern California. 🎨✨

Her work is currently featured in multiple group exhibitions, with a solo portrait show opening this month. As an exhibiting artist, MFA mentor + LCAD artist-in-residence, Ler brings her experience back to our community, supporting the next generation of artists.

LCAD Graphic Design + Digital Media senior Remy Maas created a new brand identity for Skating Is Connection (SIC) as a project in his Action Sports class. After his designs were selected by the brand, Remy traveled to Portland to see his work debuted at the 2026 Rockstar Energy Open! 🛹🎨

At LCAD, industry-focused projects are integrated into the curriculum, giving students opportunities to develop their work in real-world contexts and see their ideas come to life beyond the classroom.✨

Faculty Feature: Mason Williams 🏜️

Mason Williams is an LCAD professor and MFA Painting alum whose work is rooted in the American West, drawing from observation and memory to capture moments of adventure, beauty, and wonder.

His work has been exhibited at museums across the country and recognized by organizations including Oil Painters of America and the California Art Club, as well as featured in publications including Fine Art Connoisseur, Western Art Collector, and PleinAir Magazine.
