THE BIG EVENT 2026 💚

200 volunteers. 30 homes. One community that showed up with so much heart.

This day was bigger than anything we could’ve imagined and it wouldn’t have been possible without: our incredible team, the constant support from our families and friends, the love from McNeese, and the generosity of our donors.

To Southwest Louisiana, thank you for welcoming us, supporting us, and letting us call this place home.

We are so honored to exemplify McNeese’s core value of excellence with a personal touch, and we are so grateful for the impact we get to have on Southwest Louisiana and the impact this community gets to have on us.

This is what it means to serve something bigger than yourself. This is what it means to be a Poke. This is The Big Event. This is McNeese State University.

-Sydney is graduating this May with a degree in Radiologic Sciences and plans to continue her education to become a Physician Assistant. She is from Westlake, Louisiana, and is most excited to see people serving,laughing, working hard, and the impact it makes on the community
