Teaching Tips from Katrecia!

Meet Katrecia, a student in our Evening Elementary Education Program who is already gaining valuable classroom experience as a long-term substitute teacher!

Katrecia shares her top tips for staying organized and managing your time as an educator:

Plan ahead! Keep weekly lesson plans and teaching materials organized in one place.

Prioritize tasks. Create a daily to-do list and focus on what matters most.

Prepare the day before to save valuable time.

Use a planner or digital calendar to track deadlines and important dates.

Stay clutter-free! Label bins, folders, and supplies so everything has a place.

Break big tasks into smaller steps to make them more manageable.

Great advice from one of our future educators who is already making a difference in the classroom!

Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Last week, our FSC School of Education preservice teachers planned and implemented Literacy Night at Pinewood Elementary School as part of their Community Clinical Experience!

This hands-on opportunity allowed our future educators to engage with students and families while building meaningful school–community connections.

We are proud of our preservice teachers and grateful for our partnership with Pinewood Elementary!

Future teachers in action!

Our first-year School of Education students recently had the exciting opportunity to step into the role of teacher and deliver a lesson to students at The Roberts Academy

What an incredible experience for our future educators to begin developing their instructional skills, building confidence, and connecting with students so early in their college journey!

At Florida Southern College, we believe the best way to learn to teach is by doing! We are proud of our first-year students for taking this important step toward becoming classroom educators.

A special thank you to for providing meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities for our students!
