A message from President Jeremy Martin:

For many, Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer. However, for nearly 160 years, its true purpose has been to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms that we enjoy every day in the United States.

Florida Southern College is proud of its longstanding tradition of ROTC graduates and alumni who have served with distinction in our nation’s military, including those who gave their lives while serving in uniform. This spring, our community was poignantly reminded of that service and devotion as we honored Major Cody A. Khork ’14.

Today, we join with millions of Americans who mourn loved ones, who remember their bravery and who honor the legacies of the men and women who gave their lives.

Please join me in taking a moment today to observe the true purpose of Memorial Day with heartfelt prayers of gratitude and remembrance.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week at The Ravenous Pig for the Orlando Alumni and Friends Reception!

Guests had the chance to connect before hearing from our new Alumni Board President, Christine Ehlenbeck ‘07, who spoke about the value of community, staying connected, and supporting scholarships. Dr. Martin shared a College update highlighting the student journey and exciting new initiatives, including the architecture program. The Office of Alumni Relations also announced upcoming events, which will be featured in the next quarterly e-newsletter.
